Dragon of Etchinstone Bundle
Etchinstone, the last great nation under the wide reaches of Valorfall, is under grave threat of a kind no one saw coming. Four ancient dragons have seized control of pivotal strongholds in every direction--North, South, East and West. It's up to you, the strongest of the rare Ether Mages, to make the perilous quest to each of these strongholds, defeat the dragons, and bring peace back to Etchinstone.
In Dragons of Etchinstone, you, the brave Ether Mage, must work your way through four Regions and a challenging final encounter against one of the four dragons. You'll use your Action cards to manage dangerous Journeys and formidable Enemies. Defeat them, and your reward is XP, which you can use to upgrade your action cards. Defeat or narrow victories against Journeys results in losing time, which may force you to face the dragon before you feel ready. Defeat or narrow victories against Enemies results in taking damage, which forces you to downgrade your Action cards and weakens your power.
----------
Finally, and at great cost, the dragons lay defeated. But now, a greater threat looms. Ancient evils have claimed Northvale, the warrior civilization in Northern Valorfall. These winter-hardened tribes would not have stood for loss without a fight. Surely this aggression must have been committed by only the most powerful adversaries. Some say they are the fathers of dragons. Others, dormant titans awakened from deep beneath the earth. It will require the greatest of Valorfall’s Ether Mages to answer this challenge. Etchinstone calls for every elemental guild’s best Mage to travel northward--to glory or defeat.
----------
Northvale is an 18-card expansion for Dragons of Etchinstone. The player takes the role of one of four powerful Ether Mages, one from each guild. There are four major guilds in Valorfall (red, blue, gray and yellow), each with their own school of thought on how best to wield the elements.
You get the chance to pit your chosen Mage against a new landscape, progressing from the brutal dangers of the Severed Seaboard to the open--but deadly--horizons of the Whispering Fields. Then, navigate the dark terrain and evil secrets of the Forgotten Foothills. And, finally, traverse the icy mountain terrain and unmatched power of the Elementals in the unforgiving Northern region of Northvale. Then, if you are brave enough, face one of four terrifying new bosses.
----------
As the last greater dragon falls, another seismic wave of Ether unfolds from The Tear. It shakes the foundations of the Tower, and while it doesn’t kill any mages, it does infuse the very stone with the pulsating light of elemental magic. Like a shining beacon, the Tower calls out to the corporeal and ethereal alike. To humans and monsters. And to far worse…
Darkness descends on Vale as dragons attack the Tower! With the irresistible pull of Ether emanating from the mages’ academy, the Tower is under siege. The monsters of Etchinstone are trying to take control of The Tear, and brave Ether Mages must fight to protect the realm. The fate of Vale hinges upon this climactic battle!
In Dragons of Etchinstone: Siege, players act as Ether Mages defending against powerful siege attacks. An expanded hand allows players to create two Action Sets per turn, while new Structure Cards offer valuable abilities to use in the battle. These new mechanics bolster the Dragons of Etchinstone experience and create an ultimate challenge for even the sharpest gamers. Gut-wrenching hand management and brain-burning strategy will satisfy even the greatest Ether Mages.
Bloodied by the fight for freedom in Vale? Curious what lies beyond The Tear? The Siege expansion also offers players a chance to take on the role of the monsters in the Return to Etchinstone variant. Pursue victory at all costs and return to your lost home through the Tower’s Ether rift!
Siege will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about minimalist game design with a city-sized achievement in a pocket-sized game.
